New Edition Fumée variant brings stealth and luxury to the collection
Since debuting the brand, founders Matthew de Bakker and Asbjørn Simonen-Andersen have concentrated on enhancing the success of their initial diver’s watch, the Frømand. Distinct from many others in the industry, Atelier Holgur set out to design a watch that meets professional diving standards while integrating luxurious elements typically associated with haute horology. Following the launch of the inaugural model, and its subsequent Edition Fumée variants which introduced splashes of colour to the line, Atelier Holgur now presents the Frømand Edition Fumée Silver Tide.
Recognising the public’s growing appetite for divers’ watches with a notable quotient of style and buoyed by the success of its inaugural model, Atelier Holgur now presents the Frømand Edition Fumée, a new addition to the brand’s product portfolio.Taking inspiration from marine environments
The Silver Tide takes inspiration from night dives where the moonlight reflects off the surface of the water, giving a silver glow that fades to black.
The Edition Fumée offers the same level of functionality as the original model. Maintaining water resistance of up to 300m, a unidirectional dive bezel, and exceptional readability, the new design introduces slightly different dial aesthetics, exuding a more refined demeanour. The hands, indices, and count-up scale, featuring abundant Super-LumiNova®, remain easily visible even in deep waters. The primary dial design replaces the textured finish of the brand's first model with a sunburst pattern on a smoother surface, except for the small seconds sub-dial which still showcases a series of delicate concentric circles. The resulting timepiece appears slightly more elegant, leaning more toward a formal look rather than sporty.
Furthermore, the new Edition Fumée models continue to feature the highly praised skeletonized movement found in the initial release, the Schwarz-Etienne ASE 200 for Atelier Holgur. Enhanced with a micro-rotor and exquisite finishing touches, this calibre stands out from conventional movements seen in traditional diver’s watches. Appropriately, Atelier Holgur has equipped these updated versions with a transparent case back, offering a clear view of the beautifully decorated movement for watch enthusiasts to admire.
In line with the 2022 Frømand model, the Edition Fumée features an integrated strap bar ensuring a secure fit on the wrist, a practical feature both on land and in water. Atelier Holgur’s innovative strap system enables easy strap changes without requiring any tools. The Edition Fumée includes two straps, both crafted from recycled ocean plastic by tide ocean material®, enhancing sustainability. The first strap features a Hook & Loop fastening and pin system, providing a glimpse of the movement from the back, while the second strap boasts a simple loop design with a hint of colour that complements the dial.
